PORTLAND, Oregon - Madeleine Conser from Portland, Oregon has had a breakout season in 2025.
The high school sophomore attends ICL Academy online, to allow more time for her to practice and play golf. She played at Valley Catholic High School in 2024, where she won the OSAA 4A/3A/2A/1A individual Championship by six strokes at +8. She made the switch in her sophomore year (2024-25) which didn’t allow her to play in OSAA events in 2025.
“I will be continuing my high school education at ICL Academy. It has been a game changer for me and has given me way more time to play and practice golf while still maintaining a good education,” Conser said.
The school change has produced dividends.
She would win the OGA Peter Jacobsen Major in May with a -1, winning by 9 strokes.
On June 1, Conser won the 2025 Pacific Northwest Junior PGA Championship, giving her a spot in the 49th Junior PGA Championship, which will be held from July 29-August 1, 2025.
Conser won the U.S. Girls Junior Qualifier at OGA Golf Course with a 73, +1 on June 2. Conser helped team Oregon to the win at the North Pacific Junior Ladies Matches (where she took 2nd individually).
She would make a run at the Oregon Women’s Amateur at Tualatin Country Club, where she made it to the semifinals, losing to the eventual Champion, Kyra Ly from Oregon State University 3&2.
Conser won her second OGA Major of the season at the 95th Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur on June 27, beating Alyssa Rigby in the final 2&1.
“I am super grateful for all of the opportunities this sport has given me so far this summer and I look forward to playing in my second U.S. Girls' Junior this year, compete in my first junior PGA Championship, and see what I can do in my remaining AJGAs this summer,” Conser said.
Conser took second place at the American Junior Golf Association Junior at Geneva in early May. She plans on playing in more AJGA events this summer with events in Bakersfield, CA, and Seatle, WA planned.
“I am fully exempt now and plan on using it to my advantage,” Conser said.
Conser is a member at Rock Creek Country Club and fell in love with the game at a local golf camp in 2018.
“That first golf camp was the first time that I had truly enjoyed playing a sport,” Conser said. “In addition to the camp being really fun, I met some really awesome people who helped kickstart my golf career. After that, golf became a way that I could spend more time outdoors and play more golf with my dad. I’ve met so many amazing people through this sport and will always be grateful for what that first camp did for me.”
In 2024, Conser was named the OGA Junior Girls’ Player of the Year, having achieved two major wins at the Eastern Oregon Junior and Central Willamette Junior tournaments.
