WOODBURN, Oregon - Drew Woolworth grinded his way back after trailing by three strokes entering the final round of the 2025 Pacific Northwest Section Boys & Girls Junior PGA Championship.

Woolworth, who just won the OSAA 6A State Championship on May 20th, at OGA Golf Course - the same course as the PNW Section PGA Championship was held - made four birdies on the front nine on holes 1, 4, 8, and 9, and one on 15 to tie with first round leader Quinn Burwell at 7-under par after the 36 hole championship. Burwell is from Seattle, Washington.

It was Woolworth’s second time winning the Pacific Northwest Section PGA Championship as he also won in it 2023.

“Today it took me just staying positive,” Drew Woolworth said. “I know it might sound bad but I felt like I didn’t have my A game this weekend, luckily I played good enough to get the win. I did go bogey free which was a positive since I struggled to make birdies out there.”

Woolworth, 17 of Lake Oswego, would go on to win in the first hole of the playoff over Burwell on hole 1 after hitting his approach to three feet.

“I birdied the playoff hole against Quinn, I hit it to about 3 feet for birdie and lipped it in on the low side of the cup,” Woolworth said. “Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the putter going today. The longest putt I made was about 10 feet on hole 8.

“Yes, playing OGA in state definitely helped me because I figured out over the course of state on places where I should hit it and places I should stay away from. I’m super excited to play in the PGA junior championship, I knew coming into the tournament that I wanted to be there and that it’s a good tournament so I was happy to get the job done.”

Madeleine Conser, 16 of Portland, OR, shot a total of 141 (3-under par) for the Championship and edged out Amanda Peng of Bellevue, WA by two strokes.

The players will have the opportunity to join 156 of the nation’s top junior golfers in the PGA of America’s premium junior event, the 49th Junior PGA Championship, hosted at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex West Lafayette, Indiana. The 49th Junior PGA Championship will be held from July 29-August 1, 2025.

Winning the Boys 13-15 age division was Hunter Paquin of Hayden, ID. Sinjin Tran of Sammamish, WA finished second.

Winning the Girls 13-15 age division was Olivia Snyder of Gig Harbor, WA won with Anaya Lund of Lake Auburn, WA finishing second.
