TUALATIN, Oregon - Zach Foushee won the 116th Oregon Amateur Championship at Tualatin Country Club on Saturday, his third straight title.

Frank Dolp was the last man to win three straight Oregon Amateur Championships in 1932.

“Pretty good, it was a grind out there with the rain, but ya, I played solid today, so it feels good,” Foushee said. “The threepeat is an extra perk to winning this week. I played solid, most of the time mistake-free golf, something I learned from Robbie Ziegler, is to play to the middle of the greens and take your opportunities when you get them. That’s what I’ve done the last three years. Like off the tee, pay attention to the pins.”

After taking the medalist after 36 holes of stroke play, Foushee nearly cruised through every match play match, including the Final, which was 36 holes on Saturday against Jennings Oelke, which he won 10 and 8.

Foushee went through Zach Wilson, Mason Ho, Landon Banks, Robbie Ziegler (former champion, 2018), Cole Rueck, and Oelke in the final match.

"Jennings, he’s 19 but really solid 19-year-old player, he’s going to play college golf, he’s got the game to do it, the fire.” Foushee said of Oelke, who took second place in the 6A boys state championship in 2025.

“I worked with Brian Henninger since I was 12 years old, until I got to college. But Jennings works with Brian Henninger and Brian is one of the best, he really is,” Foushee said. “He was the foundation of my game. It was cool to see him out there and to play against someone who works with him. Jennings will have a good college career and be a good player.”

Oekle is going to play college golf at Iona University and celebrated his 19th birthday Saturday with a runner up finish at the Oregon Amateur.

Henninger played on the PGA Tour for 15 years, winning twice along the way, including a tenth-place finish at the Masters, and caddied for Oelke this week.

“So fun to watch the both of them,” Henninger said. “Zach was one of my first students. He is an amazing talent and it really shined today! Jennings actually played really solid today. Zach came with his best stuff. Fun for me to have had a little impact on both of these athletes.”

Kyra Ly, of the Oregon State women’s golf team and Cleveland High School, won the 2025 Oregon Women’s Amateur, winning her second title after winning in 2023.

Ly beat Kristine Shin, Bayler Brundage, Amanda Jacobs (former champion, 2020), Madeleine Conser, and Yvonne Vinceri 5 and 4 in the Final on Saturday.

Oregon Golf Association, CEO Rick Rangel talked about the Oregon Amateur Championship.

“Tualatin CC delivered a championship-caliber thought yet fair test. Zach Foushee’s three peat is something we haven’t seen in nearly a century and speaks to the level of his talent, Rangel said. “Kyra’s victory punched her ticket to the U.S. Women’s Am at Bandon adds another exclamation point to a great week. Proud moment for Oregon and the OGA! Congrats to all the competitors, Tualatin CC, our volunteers, and OGA team.”

Both Foushee and Ly will be headed to the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur from an exemption they earned by winning the Oregon Amateur Championship.

Foushee played in the U.S. Amateur in 2016 and the last three years, making this upcoming U.S. Am his fifth stop at the national championship.

The U.S. Amateur will be at the Olympic Club (Ocean Course) in San Francisco, California, August 11-17.

“I’ll try to have a different mindset this year. I’ve tried too hard in years past, I elevate it in my mind, so I will try to go there and hit one shot at a time, and not worry about anything beforehand,” Foushee said.

The U.S. Women’s Amateur will be the ninth different USGA competition to be conducted at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, August 4-10.
