FRISCO, Texas - United States Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley today announced Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ben Griffin, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, and Cameron Young as his six captain’s picks for the 2025 United States Ryder Cup Team.

The 45th Ryder Cup will take place September 23-28 at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.

Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English, and Bryson DeChambeau qualified via points, which concluded on August 17.

“I am immensely proud to select these six players for the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team,” said Bradley. “All six are incredibly talented and deserving of a spot on our team. Together with the six qualifiers, our team features a strong blend of Ryder Cup veterans and rookies, each bringing unique strengths and experience that will be hugely beneficial in our quest to reclaim the Cup next month at Bethpage Black.”

It was speculated that Bradley, the US Ryder Cup Captain who didn’t make the team in 2023, would pick himself as a playing captain, but he instead chose to focus on being the team’s leader. It would have been the first time there was a playing captain since 1963, when Arnold Palmer led Team USA to victory.

“This was a really tough decision. I would say there was a point this year where I was playing, a while ago, and all these guys stepped up in a major way and played their way on to this team,” Bradley said. “That's something that I'm really proud of and something that I really wanted. But it was an extremely difficult decision but one that I'm really happy with. I'm really happy with these six players, and I'm glad it's over.

“I grew up wanting to play Ryder Cups. I grew up wanting to fight alongside these guys. It broke my heart not to play. It really did. You work forever to make these teams, but ultimately, I was chosen to do a job. I was chosen to be the captain of this team. My ultimate goal to start this thing was to be the best captain that I could be.”

Bradley played in the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah.

Bradley expressed praise for World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who will represent team USA in his third Ryder Cup.

“There's so much to say about Scottie Scheffler. He had 37,000 points, 10 percent of the points given to our Ryder Cup team,” Bradley said. “He's a natural-born leader. But more importantly, I'm more impressed with the person that he is than the player, and he's a pretty incredible player. Great asset to have in our team, and really proud of the way he's stepped up and has been a leader of this team.”

Bradley would echo the sentiments of returning to New York, where he went to college at St. John’s University and played at Bethpage Black, to captain a team on one of the biggest stages in golf.

“But quickly you realize what a dream it is to be a Ryder Cup captain and what a dream it is to be a Ryder Cup captain for these 12 guys that I know, that I know so well, and a Ryder Cup captain at Bethpage Black, where I showed up to St. John's as an 18-year-old kid with a dream of playing on the PGA TOUR and never dreaming of being a Ryder Cup captain and I get to return to that same course as the captain of these guys representing our country, and that's most important,” Bradley said. “Again, I don't care how it works out, as long as we win on Sunday. I'm incredibly honored to be the Ryder Cup captain. I think part of it's been a relief and I get to focus on this and cheer these guys on for the next month or so.”

We will all be watching the drama unfold in September as the U.S. Ryder Cup Team tries to avenge their loss in Rome in 2023.
